Applied Professional Practice
I am graduate student at Glasgow caledonian university GCU), pursuing my master's degree in international tourism and event management with professional practice. Holding a bachelor of BSC (Non-Medical) from India. After my Bachelor I have completed my Bachelor of Education (B.ed) With Math and Science. I am worked In Primary school as a science teacher. But I have interested in restaurant business. I came here to earn a master's degree. Now I am employed part – time at Indian orchard restaurant, where I am a waiting staff.
Because it enables me to complete the requirements of my professional degree and provides me with the opportunity to learn how to establish my professional identity in this era of the "New Normal," where nearly all of my professional interactions take place online, the Online Professional Identity and Career Sessions activity caught my attention. My prior job experience also encourages me to look for online employment chances.
As a result, I want to dedicate some time to learning about the best practises for professionals looking to establish an online presence. By defining my core values in the first of the five sub-activities, Principles of Creating and Enhancing Your Employability, I was able to refine my professional identity-building techniques.
I was also able to identify the qualities that would be most helpful when I tried to progress in my present role thanks to this practise. Among my best character traits are confidence, communication, accountability, creativity, decision-making abilities, and consistency. I believe these traits will help me thrive in my work.
I finished an online professional identification assessment as an extra step in the process of growing and enhancing my employability. I reviewed all of the various online tools that I use to further my work; the most crucial ones being YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, in my opinion, are the greatest online media channels, whereas Instagram and YouTube are amusing but ultimately pointless.
According to the third sub activity of the Principles of Creating and Enhancing Your Employability, "Making Your Online Presence," LinkedIn is the greatest resource for professional identities while WhatsApp is the finest platform for personal ones. I produced a professional biography as part of my homework for the Principles of Creating and Enhancing Your Employability class. It included information about my professional and educational background as well as my aims for enrolling in the Applied Professional Practises course.
Dynamic Resources, Including Skills and Knowledge, is one of the Online Professional Identity and Career Sessions' sub activities. This sub activity aids in locating one's sweet spot, crafting a professional networking plan, crafting a standout CV, and matching skills and knowledge to market demands.
Through my participation in this activity, I learned that employment in India is predicted to expand by 14% by the end of 2021. Furthermore, I know that job postings on the internet are growing in popularity, which implies that there will be a higher need for master's and business degree holders. Particularly in the IT sector is this true (Moorman, 2021).
Writing SEO content for a website, joining a marketing team to contribute my skills, and researching the Indian market to determine how successful a global company is just a few things that have crossed my mind as possible career paths. In addition, I now know how to create a resume that recruiters will notice and that will pass the first screening thanks to Ray Harper's book "The Killer CV." I have not updated my resume since I do not presently have any relevant work experience.
I will complete my evaluation of my talents in a manner compliant with professional norms once I graduate from college. Through the Dynamic Resources Including Skills and knowledge activity, I also had the chance to evaluate my strengths in relation to three important factors: the state of the Indian labour market at the moment, my current capabilities, and the challenges faced by marketing professionals in the Indian market.
I have chosen to concentrate on digital marketing and marketing analysis since I am so dedicated to a career in marketing. In order to strengthen my professional brand and get myself ready to go into the Indian market, I have created a networking plan.

In response to the first question posed by the Investigating Socio-Cultural Sensitivity exercise, I have developed a list of fifteen attributes that, in my opinion, constitute inclusive professional practises. Diversity, equitable pay, planning, assistance, equality, society, civilisation, politics (for conflict resolution), business, community, caring (for everyone), equal rights, equitable compensation, and care for everyone are a few examples of these attributes.
My response to the second exercise question on Investigating Socio-Cultural Sensitivity is that diversity and inclusion may have both beneficial and negative effects on social mobility. On the one hand, it may promote social mobility and lessen the likelihood of social inequality. Potential drawbacks include user groupthink and conflicts of opinion.
I created a strategy for my job search as part of the Careers and Professional Job Search exercise, which included my objectives, strategies, and possible obstacles. Finding a purpose-driven business that values its workers' creative thinking and adaptability in achieving organisational objectives and conquering challenges is my key objective.
Having said that, I devised a three-pronged strategy: first, I asked my career guidance counsellor for help with my job search; second, I talked to people in my network to find out more about potential employers; and third, I updated my LinkedIn profile and resume to better highlight my experience and professional objectives. One of the biggest obstacles to my job placement aspirations has been the lack of assistance from people in my network.

According to Brett, et al. (2020) and Maddux, et al. (2021), a project's uniqueness and sustainability may be impacted by the way employees approach their work. An individual's work style may be inferred from the way they manage and expand their firm. I always see the success of the organisation as a means of carrying out my responsibilities as a member. Some characteristics of my work style are sequence, structure, and attention to detail. I was able to see how each team member addressed their work at the events.
I was able to grow professionally as a consequence by analysing my shortcomings, learning from the experiences of others, and adapting my working style accordingly. I have learned from this experience how important it is to prepare ahead in order to organise my workplace better. As a consequence, by bringing my own unique viewpoint to the table, I helped to advance growth and solve problems.
In the past, I thought that most of my ideas could be easily implemented because of my background and experiences. Knowledge workers will start to consider and support different work styles by applying their expertise to identify problems and provide workable solutions.
When I'm at work, I prefer to take the initiative rather than to wait for things to happen. Sarwar, et al. (2020) asserts that my ability to anticipate problems and come up with novel solutions stems from my solid grasp of the big picture. As I strove to grow in my job, I became acutely aware of character qualities and people skills. My work style evaluation indicates that I am 90% driven to get better.
Making ethical judgements requires knowing what the best course of action is. Because stakeholders' decision-making depends on more precise, truthful, and current reports, marketing ethics and transparency are essential. Maintaining moral principles is essential to me as a marketer. For example, when I noticed consumer fraud in my prior role, I reported it to higher-ups, and they acted quickly to stop the manipulation. Honesty and truthfulness in information presentation are ethical behaviours I would employ in both job applications and interviews. It is visible in my resume.
Even though people from different parts of the world bring their distinct customs to the table, globalisation is directly responsible for the cultural melting pot that is today's workplace. Chan, & Ananthram, (2019) highlights the importance of taking people's values and emotions into account. Hofstede's cultural components are undoubtedly relevant to my field of work. Understanding other cultures is essential to operating a successful business.
This lesson taught me that treating individuals with respect for their culture is a terrific way to treat them with respect in general. Before engaging with someone, it might be beneficial to learn more about their culture through self-awareness, research, talking to others from similar backgrounds, and keeping in mind that each individual is different. Travelling to other countries and cultures broadens one's perspective on many options.
To mention a few instances, in Indian culture, it is considered impolite to touch someone's foot. Additionally, gestures are seen as a special means of self-expression, people value personal space highly, and—most importantly—clothes shouldn't expose too much skin. When establishing your business in India, take into consideration the customs of the region. Learning sign language, dressing modestly, giving female employees room to walk about, and making sure that work is well-lit and safe at night are a few instances of this.
Developing an entrepreneurial attitude might improve your ability to think critically, be more creative, and learn about your field. My confidence to start my own business came from my ability to think strategically and creatively; it also improved my idea generation and capacity to support the success of my employer (Chen, et al. 2020).
I combined everything I learnt in school and from my internships to work as a freelancer for three years. I am capable of offering a broad range of services, such as marketing, auditing, and market analysis based on data obtained from the internet, because of the vast professional network I have built.
Even if someone possesses the necessary traits to launch a business, they still need to comprehend the structure and procedures to make their great ideas a reality. Any organization's governance documents has to contain a mission and vision statement.

Ahmad, et al. (2023) assert that social media and other digital advancements have improved business communication and teamwork. No matter how hard people strive, collaboration may still fail in the absence of effective leadership. Their research indicates that effective CEOs are able to build relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside of their organisation. For instance, the president of Akamai Technologies invited twenty to forty people for coffee or lunch in order to better understand macroeconomic concerns and encouraged them to ask questions.
He also uploaded his journey location so that other staff members could track him down. His strategy was encouraging inter-employee communication and seeking outside advice. These articles contend that the president or CEO is not only in charge of day-to-day operations but also serves as a liaison between the company and the external community. These papers make it abundantly evident that effective global competitiveness depends on collaborative leadership. The exceptional work of their leaders is responsible for the success of many businesses.
I was able to evaluate my strengths and shortcomings and decide where I needed to concentrate my efforts after giving it some thought. My strengths lay in situational leadership, as a leader who adapts their style to suit various situations rather than having a predefined set of abilities (Daspit, et al. 2023). Additionally, a student needs space and time to consider how their past knowledge compares to that of leaders in the field.
Upon reflecting on my leadership principles both in class and throughout the evaluation, I came to see the importance of other people's knowledge and perspectives above mine. You may call myself a situational leader since I've discovered that my style of leadership varies according on the scenario.
This presents a chance for me to hone my abilities since it shows that I can modify my leadership approach to fit any circumstance. I discovered via studying work culture theory that establishing relationships with co-workers and the company requires embracing cultural norms (Friedland, & Jain, 2022). Additionally, according to Davies (2013), a workforce with greater diversity is more likely to create since everyone has the chance to contribute and show off their creativity.
Furthermore, from the perspective of ethical and decision-making theory, marketing is a particularly ethical industry since it affects nearly all stakeholders. I am thus motivated to learn more about ethical marketing decision-making so that I may successfully meet everyone's demands. My educational and cultural encounters in the UK helped me to broaden my horizons and take on a more active, perceptive learning style.
I have an insatiable thirst for information, which has been stoked by reading and following the success stories of experts. Hopefully, by doing this, I will be able to overcome my fear of rejection and find success in my job search—two issues that have long tormented me. I was encouraged to keep trying and learn from other people's mistakes by career analyst Daniel Pink's film on the subject, but it takes internal motivation.
As a leader, I adjust my strategy in response to outside circumstances, yet a high level of extrinsic incentive may eventually result in poorer performance, according to Schiuma, et al. (2022). As such, I should concentrate on honing my innate motivational skills. This professional development plan is supported by five pillars: a calendar, resources, professional objectives, tactics, and self-evaluation. This theoretical framework has made it easier for me to identify my areas of weakness and the places where I may get the closest to achieving my objectives.
• I am now looking for a job with a mission-driven company that will provide me the chance to express my ideas and progress professionally.
• I am having trouble finding a job due of my little professional network, regardless of how excellent my people and communication abilities are.
• I need to improve my self-motivation abilities since, in the long run, no amount of material gains will enable me to advance both personally and professionally. That might be a barrier to leadership success.
• My top goal in the job hunt is to work for a mission-driven company that respects the opinions of its workers and gives them the freedom to advance their careers.
• My ultimate objective is to become a proficient digital marketer in India so that I can build and assess digital marketing campaigns, audiences, and strategies and offer small companies reliable support.

• After earning my master's degree, I want to look for a position with an organisation that has a clear mission.
